James Chadwick, Nobel de Física, conocido por el descubrimiento del neutrón, estudió bajo la tutela de Ernest Rutherford, Nobel de Química, quien desarrolló la teoría sobre la estructura interna del átomo, a su vez, fue alumno de Joseph John Thomson, Nobel de Física, descubridor del electrón y de los isótopos.
